The Westmount Wildcats and Sir Allan MacNab Lions battled to the end in the senior boys basketball championships. The game was closely contested right up until the end. Westmount won with a final score of 65-54. Top scorers were Daniel Dzierzaski from MacNab with a game-high 21 points and James Miles from Westmount with 17 points. The 2012-13 fall sports season has kicked off. At the middle school level, schools are participating in 3-pitch tournaments this week. At the high school level, field hockey, baseball and girls basketball have begun, with football starting at the end of the week.

The first champions of the 2012-13 HWIAC sports year have been crowned. The senior tennis tournament took place on Wednesday, September 19 at the Rosedale Tennis Club.
